But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8 NIV)

A Christians soul winning is a divine mandate given to us by the lord. In the gospels, the Lord Jesus told his disciples “Follow me and I will make you fishers of men” (Mat 4:19, Mark 1:17). Notice he said, “I WILL MAKE YOU”. That says a lot about our lovely father. you see everything in Christianity is God enabling you and giving you the strength to do his will, it’s not us trying to do him a favor. No! If we want to see the desired outcome, everything must be done through the aid and strength he gives us.

Soul-winning is definitely one of them. in our opening verse, the lord says we will be able to preach the gospel after we’ve received the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8). That’s why he instructed his disciples to wait until they get filled with the Holy Spirit (Luk 24:49, Acts 1:4). But after receiving the Holy Spirit, we are not instructed to wait, we are told to spread the message. If you were facing a disadvantage in your life prior to receiving the Holy Spirit, by reason of him being in you, you have received an unfair advantage over every circumstance. This ought to be our mindset.

One question a lot of people ask is, how do I start? Or they might even give excuses like, I’m not good at talking. Those are pretty good and reasonable excuses, but that’s why the Lord gave us the Holy Spirit. It is so we can be able to speak the word boldly. In case you have forgotten, the Apostle Peter who was preaching to thousands of Jews about Jesus on the day of Pentecost, was the same one who couldn’t bring himself to confess his association with Jesus in front of 3 people a month before that. what changed? He was filled with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the best teacher you’ll ever have, he is gentle and makes tailor-made lessons just for you. So, the best thing to do is to start following his guidance, let him show you how to do it and he’ll make a champion at soul winning out of you. But nothing will happen until you start.
